A consistent view across the kitchen
Looking at a single door is only part of the job. Adjacent fronts need to sit comfortably together, with appropriate gaps and a consistent relationship to the cabinetry. We work to the fitting guidance for the supplied range and review the runs from more than one angle. The final adjustment takes account of the completed cabinet and worktop installation, so the finished setting reflects the kitchen as it will be used.
Doors that open and close properly
Hinges provide adjustment for different aspects of the door position. We use the adjustments available on the supplied hardware and check for rubbing, poor closing or contact with adjacent handles and walls. Tall fronts and corner arrangements deserve particular attention. Where glazed doors or decorative components are supplied, their retainers and fittings are checked in accordance with the product instructions.
Drawers and integrated appliances
Drawer fronts are aligned with the surrounding doors, while the drawer boxes and runners are checked for smooth travel. Pan drawers need to remain square and properly supported. Integrated appliance fronts use the system specified for that appliance; they are checked for opening clearance as well as appearance. Soft-close operation is tested where fitted, with adjustments made where the mechanism permits them.
Panels, profiles and the final review
Visible end panels and island panels help complete the furniture, while handleless designs rely on a tidy, continuous relationship between fronts and grip profiles. We check those details together during finishing. If a supplied front is damaged or a replacement is outstanding, we explain what can be completed and how the remaining fitting will be arranged. Is every kitchen meant to have the same door gap?
No. The target depends on the supplied system. The important points are suitable clearance and a consistent finish within that design.
Can a sticking drawer always be fixed by adjusting its front?
Not necessarily. The runner, cabinet alignment, loading or an obstruction may be involved, so the cause needs checking before adjustment.
How do you bring a whole run of doors into alignment?
We check the cabinets first, then adjust compatible hinges and drawer fittings across the run. Height, depth, clearances and opening movement are considered together rather than correcting one gap in isolation.
What happens when a supplied door is damaged?
We identify the affected item so you can arrange a replacement with the supplier. Any fitting still required is recorded, and return arrangements are agreed rather than assuming every replacement can be fitted immediately.
Can existing doors be upgraded to soft-close?
Sometimes. The hinges, mounting plates and door construction must be compatible with the proposed hardware. Send photographs and any product details so we can assess a suitable option before you buy parts.
How long does fitting and adjusting the fronts take?
That depends on the number of fronts, hinge system and integrated appliances. We allow for both fitting and final adjustment in the project programme; a tall or handleless run can require extra attention.
